Both videos say that EVs may not sell because there is no sign that Japan's EV infrastructure is ready.
I agree with them.

So what will happen to the Japanese auto industry in the future?

Personally, I think that the main battlefield for EV sales will be overseas where the infrastructure is in place.

For example, the 50cc scooter market in Japan has a low profit margin, and companies are accelerating their withdrawal from the market.
On the other hand, in Southeast Asia, the Cub and scooter business is highly profitable and is being widely developed.

In the same way, it is unlikely to be profitable to develop EVs for the domestic market if they are not expected to sell well.

And with the current trend, gasoline cars will stop selling in European countries in the 2030s. Japan will have no choice but to follow suit.

Therefore, I believe that if the infrastructure is not improved at this rate, the number of "cars" and "motorcycles" themselves will decrease from Japan.

Of course, this will not be the case if the government gets serious about improving the infrastructure, but so far there are no signs of that happening.

We can't make something that doesn't sell or make a profit.
